Up to Us2013 Representative Assembly

This week more than a thousand of WEA's leading activists will converge on the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue for the 93rd annual WEA Rep Assembly. They will be discussing, debating, and voting on New Business Items, Resolutions, and a Constitution and Bylaw change.

Once each year, the members who are elected by their peers gather for the Representative Assembly, commonly called “RA.”

Rep Assembly is the highest policy-making body of the WEA. The decisions made at RA determine the goals and priorities for the coming year. Delegates are eagerly planning to meet up with members of organizations they joined last year, or new delegates from other locals that they have met, often writing New Business Items during caucus meetings held during breaks from Rep Assembly

This year, delegates will be heading down to Olympia on Saturday morning to remind legislators that funding Public Education is a paramount duty of the State of Washington. Click here for more information on the rally.
